ELSO Sample Tests

This section of the ELSO website was developed by members of the Logistics and Education Committee and contains sample ECLS tests. We hope that ECLS coordinators and/or specialists will benefit by sharing questions that can be used to assess the cognitive knowledge of the ECMO specialist.

The sample tests that are available on this site were submitted by coordinators at various ECMO centers. Although many of the questions may be similar, the wording and/or style may offer a fresh approach or new idea. Most of the answers to the questions can be found by referencing the ELSO Red Book or the ELSO Specialist Training Manual. Some of the answers to the questions may be center specific; however, since patients are managed differently at different centers. ELSO does not endorse any of the questions nor guarantee any correct answers. Please contact the test submitter if you have any questions related to a specific test question.

Each file has a footer giving the page number, how many pages in the file, file name, and month / year test was posted on the ELSO website.
