Current endowments include the Robert H. Bartlett, M.D. fund which
supports research in extracorporeal support.
Robert
H. Bartlett, M.D., is a Professor Emeritus of Surgery and Program Director of the Extracorporeal Life
Support Program at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He was the
first Chairman of the ELSO Steering Committee and the first to
successfully apply ECLS to newborns with respiratory failure. He has
spent the last 30 years working with his colleagues to guide the
development of this technique and technology. Awards are granted yearly
at the ELSO meeting.
