receiving the Award for Excellence in Life Support!
One of the reasons Louisiana State University Health
Sciences Center was found
noteworthy as specified by the ELSO Award Committee is:
You are awarded this honor based in part on your excellent physician
training. You have an extensive physician credentialing program which includes
cannulation training for Critical Care Fellows and Specialists. Two ECLS trained
physicians are at the bedside for each patient cannulation. Your entire staff is
recredentialed for ECMO every 6 months with an exam and wet lab. You have an
extensive ECMO specific QA/QI program with impressive results.
