ELSO would like to recognize Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for receiving the Award for Excellence in Life Support!

One of the reasons Children's Hospital of Wisconsin was found noteworthy as specified by the ELSO Award Committee is:

You are awarded this honor based on the continuing excellence of your program. A highlight is your physician education program. Physicians receive classes 4x/year presented by the coordinator and the medical director, which include pump drills, coagulation, order submission, and blood product requirements. Your coordinator personally provides the initial 12 hour mentoring for all new specialists. Responding to an immediate need with a rapid improvement cycle, you created a checklist during a recent QI project, to streamline ECMO initiation for ECPR patients.
