ELSO would like to recognize the University of New Mexico Hospital for receiving the Award for Excellence in Life Support!

One of the reasons the University of New Mexico Hospital was found noteworthy as specified by the ELSO Award Committee is:

You are awarded this honor based in part on your exemplary staffing and excellent bedside nurse education. Your ECMO Specialist’s always have in house back-up and during high acuity cases, you even staff with two ECMO Specialists and one bedside nurse. Your biannual bedside nurse classes provide an in depth ECMO education and are family centered, including information on how to support families during the ECMO run.
