ELSO would like to recognize San Diego Regional ECMO
Program - Rady Children's Hospital for
receiving the Award for Excellence in Life Support!
One of the reasons San Diego Regional ECMO Program - Rady
Children's Hospital was found
noteworthy as specified by the ELSO Award Committee is:
Your hospital has a well defined program of education
for physicians and specialists. Physicians and specialists take a comprehensive
course taught by a multidisciplinary team. Physicians must work a minimum of
four ECMO runs with an experienced ECMO physician and mentor to the pump with an
experienced ECMO Specialist before they are ECMO certified. You always have an
ECMO trained physician in-house to care for these patients.
