ELSO would like to recognize Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for receiving the Award for Excellence in Life Support!

One of the reasons Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston was found noteworthy as specified by the ELSO Award Committee is:

All of your bedside nurses are required to complete an Advanced Competencies Module for their unit. You include lectures on the basic physiology of ECMO, patient selection criteria and nursing care. You also include a written module describing the nuances of caring for an ECMO patient and offer a brief water drill to review their role during an emergency and how they should perform an off-bypass procedure. A water drill circuit is available for any ECMO specialist that would like to practice procedures on their own at any time. Your Specialists are allowed to schedule a 1:1 water drill with a primer anytime they would like.
